ODIN J. WHITCHER

Odin James Whitcher is employed at Dakota Grit as an Equipment Tester and Physical Therapy aide. His primary Equipment Testing responsibilities include Jumping on plyometric boxes to ensure they are structurally stable for patients, running as fast as he can for as long as he can on the treadmill ensuring the belt is optimal, swinging from the rings and lifting the weights as many times as he can.

As an Aide, Odin is assigned with turning the open/closed sign around, wiping tables and equipment clean after each patient use, cleaning the toilet, sweeping/ moping the floor, folding towels/pillowcases. Odin also holds down the fort when the rest of the staff has an errand to run.

Odin is charged with maintaining neighborly relations with the other businesses in the Haines shopping center. This includes making frequent trips to Joann's fabric store to mingle with the ladies there as well as making trips to Mt Rushmore Birds to see his friend Chester, a parakeet.

Odin is also assigned a daily exercise regime that he completes with pure enthusiasm.

Odin negotiated a wage of $5/week – or $1/day – with room to bump up to $10/week if he works well. Given Odin’s prowess for negotiating, Odin was able to get a clause in his terms of employment that require Dakota Grit to pay his entry fees for Rapid City BMX, Wrestling Tournaments, and the Mutton Bustin’ at the Central States Fair. Odin also works for Gummy Bears.

Odin enjoys interacting with patients and most specifically he likes coloring them pictures that they can take home and hang on their fridge.

When Odin is not actively employed at the clinic doing his Equipment Testing or Aiding, he can be found napping in a treatment room or watching his little Cartoons on an iPad. He is also inclined to set up G.I Joe Army men in the back room and let the opposing sides shoot it out.

Odin is a Kindergarten graduate of Calvary Baptist in Rapid City. Odin is expected to graduate high school in the year 2034.

With Odin graduating from kindergarten, obtaining the requisite education, he recently took over as Chief Human Resources Officer - handling all employee complaints and hiring any new staff.

Odin has several aspirations for when he grows up. (1) Odin would like to join the U.S Marines and fight against the global proliferation of evil. (2) Odin wants to be a cowboy and work for his grandpa Jim. (3) Odin wants to be a Physical Therapist. (4) Odin is also mulling over the idea of being a race car driver. We at Dakota Grit are excited to see which path he decides.

Outside of Dakota Grit, Odin enjoys swimming at the city pools and is excited about reaching the height where he can start to ride the slides at the city pool. He also enjoys riding his BMX bike and competing in races at the local track. Odin is a proud member of the Central High School Cobbler Kids wrestling team. Odin enjoys playing chess but has frank disdain for losing. Odin has a four-wheeler and rides it far faster than necessary – he has figured out how adjust the governor to open. Odin does most of the tasks for Dakota Grit - absent any medical coding/billing or offering of physical therapy treatments. However, if Calvary Baptist Christian School does a good job educating Odin in the 1st grade, we think he will be primed to take over the billing department - handling the Blue Crosses and other major payors.
